Check out the new material that I have added to Publications and other resources. More material will soon be added, with additional sub-headings too. I have also added a new section, called In-class activities, for use in teaching and facilitating and organized by topic. Let me know what is helpful and what you are using in your own practice. I am happy to add more examples, and will credit you if you wish.

The web site you are on right now, ‘In View Education and Professional Development‘, is for my consulting practice for design and facilitation of workshops and programs for people who teach or train. I also write about teaching and learning, and design a variety of educational programming.

Are you looking for ‘Birds in View‘ (or its sort-of-precursor, ‘Birds of Vancouver’)? That is my consulting practice for designing and leading workshops about birds and other wildlife, and field expeditions, guest talks and workshops to learn how to identify them, as well as many other aspects of birds and other wildlife. Windsor-Oakland conference: May 19-20, 2011

I invite you to take part in the session, Share and share alike: Would any of these assignments and activities work for your course? It is a peer-reviewed conference session, taking place through this blog, during the timing of the face-to-face conference (May 19 and 20, 2011) at the University of Windsor in Ontario.

You can take part whether you are at the conference or not. You will need to register (see the Step-by-step guide) by emailing me, and also so that you can receive all the contributed material. You can start now if you like (we officially start at 9:00 am EST on the 19th, and all material will be up by then). I will ask that you spend a total of 90 minutes ‘in the session’ (but you can come and go as you like), and that you complete the required tasks by Friday, May 20, 2011 at 5:00 pm EST at the latest.

Hi, and welcome

I have organized this website mainly by the tabs at the top. If you are looking for a workshop topic or really, anything else that might be on the site, you can use the search function.

I hope you will consider signing up to receive an email when I add new material to the site. My plans for the near future include articles I have written about teaching and learning, some short video or audio clips of my work, and whatever other kinds of things you request and would find useful that I can supply. I look forward to hearing from you.
